Over the past seven years, the ABC has contributed over $19K towards supporting the education and skills development of 20 Alberta individuals who are actively involved in beekeeping or pursuing a career in an area that impacts beekeeping.

Building on the Commission’s commitment to supporting the advancement of the Alberta beekeeping industry, we’re pleased to announce the launch of the 2025 bursary fund, offering individuals in the beekeeping industry the opportunity to secure one of THREE $1000 bursaries.

This year we are excited to announce three different categories for applications:

1. Pioneers in honey bee science Individuals who are currently involved in an area of research that supports the health and sustainability of honey bees.
2. Future leaders in beekeeping & science For students studying and/or actively working in the field of beekeeping.
3. Youth innovators in beekeeping or commercial scale ups For individuals actively growing and scaling up their beekeeping operations to a commercial level.  

The successful applicant in each category will be awarded $1000.  Applicants may select multiple categories if applicable, however applicants will only be eligible to receive one $1000 bursary.

Please note, previous successful applicants are no longer eligible to apply. Applications close June 30, 2025. Successful applicants will be contacted  via email in August 2025.
